I’ve finally reached 100,000 miles on my Toyota, but I missed it when it changed. At least I got it within 10 miles.

The coolness of this photo is pretty flippin’ obvious, isn’t it? I love vintage photography.

Recent Music

I’ve been listening a lot to the following music, lately.

  1. Hung Up (Radio Edit) by Madonna
  2. Follow My Ruin by Royksopp
  3. What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani
  4. DARE by Gorillaz

My tastes lately have certainly skewed more towards the pop music.

Where I’ve Been in the USA

Create Your Own Visited States Map

Okay, this one is much better, as I’ve been to many more states in the USA than I have other countries in the world.

Seriously, though, I wish I could make my states blue instead of red.

Update: I forgot that I’ve been in Arizona. I was out there back in 1993 or 1994 with my high school marching band. We were in the Fiesta Bowl parade in Phoenix.

World Series

I’m not a big fan of any sport, but I do like baseball, and I have to say that I really want the White Sox to win the World Series.

Some Late Night Humor

One of the RSS feeds to which I subscribe is a continuously updated list of blog entries tagged with “freebsd” on Technorati. I was going through the updates, which are almost all written in a foreign language, and found this one about Samba by Myles Henderson.

“I’ve been fighting with samba all day. It can suck my balls.”

It’s late and reading that made me bust out laughing. I guess I just wasn’t expecting it.

UrbanTiki (aka Bobby) is an amazing photographer. This shot reminds me of something you’d see in a newspaper.

Wilco

Wilco

I’m catching up on what has been a pretty busy week for me.

This past Thursday, October 13, I managed to score a ticket from a buddy at work to the Wilco concert that night. Ended up going to the concert with other co-workers and had a very good time.

I wish I could say that I am a big fan of Wilco. It isn’t that I don’t like their music — because it’s very good — but instead I just don’t know it very well. They are one of those bands that I would probably really like if I actually took the time to lsiten to their music.

None-the-less, I had a blast and they’re fun in concert. Not as much fun as seeing the Flaming Lips or the Pixies, but still worth it. Plus, the concert was at the Murat, which is one of my favorite venues.

The first gathering of the Flickr Fans of Indianapolis meetup was a success. We gathered at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 12, at the Rathskeller for dinner and beer. In attendance were the following people.

We decided, as a group, to keep using the Rathskeller as a meeting spot, so we’ll be there, again, on Wednesday, November 7, for next month’s meetup.

I Still Love Bloglines

I’ve been using Bloglines for what seems like forever. It’s a nice feed aggregator and it’s totally free, at least for now. This past week they added some nice keyboard navigation features that I really dig — and, as such, I feel compelled to spend time blogging about them.

I woke up this morning to the sound of a backhoe making its way through the alley behind my condo. Looks like they are preparing to build a house, with a basement.
